Watch: Sanju Samson hits 5 sixes in an over, tears into leg-spinner Rishad Hossain

India wicketkeeper batter Sanju Samson was seen at his destructive best during the third T20I against Bangladesh on Saturday, October 12 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Opening the innings for India, Samson registered his 3rd T20I half century off just 22 balls and unleashed his beast mode on the Bangladesh bowlers.
Wrist spinner Rishad Hossain got the worst hammering by the India batter as he bludgeoned him for five consecutive sixes in the 10th over of the match. Samson started the over with a dot ball as he got hit on his pads. However, on the second ball he whacked Hossain over his head for a maximum to bring up the team hundred in 9.2 overs.

As a result, Samson managed to score the joint second highest runs of an over by an Indian batter in T20Is leveling the feat of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Tilak Varma vs Australia in 2023. Apart from him, Rinku Singh and Rohit Sharma scored 36 runs against Afghanistan’s Karim Janat earlier this year while Yuvraj Singh also hit 36 runs against Stuart Broad during the T20 World Cup 2007.
Coming back to the match, after five sixes against Rishad, Samson moved iinto the 90s and went on to register his maiden T20I hundred off just 40 balls. The opener repaid the trust of the team management shown in him and clobbered 11 fours and eight many sixes on his way to the milestone.
His innings finally came to an end as he got holed out to deep square leg against Mustafizur Rahman. As a result, Samson was dismissed on 111 (47) and got a rousing applause from the crowd as he made his way back towards the pavilion.
